Batman: Nightwalker by Marie Lu REVIEW

Summary:

Before he was Batman, he was Bruce Wayne. A reckless boy willing to break the rules for a girl who may be his worst enemy.

My Thoughts:

I never really got much into Batman. I've watched a few movies, but they didn't really stick. But this book was great. Maybe it was because Marie Lu, an amazing author, wrote it. Maybe it was Batman, telling me to give him another chance. Maybe it was both.
Bruce is only 18 in the book, yet he is expected to do so many things an 18 year old shouldn't have to do. He seems to be a very mature guy. Madeline was extremely interesting. I honestly want a prequel, just to know more about her past that was vaguely talked about (not in too much detail).
Literally every book by Marie Lu is perfect.
So read this book. Now.

The Midnight Star by Marie Lu REVIEW

**Sequel to The Young Elites and The Rose Society**

Summary:

Adelina Amouteru is done with suffering. She's turned her back on those who have betrayed her and achieved the ultimate revenge: victory. Her reign as the White Wolf has been a triumphant one, but with each conquest, her cruelty only grows. The darkness within her has begun to spiral out of control, threatening to destroy all she's gained.

When a new danger appears, Adelina's forced to revisit old wounds, putting not only herself at risk, but every Elite. In order to preserve her empire, Adelina and her Roses must join the Daggers on a perilous quest--though this uneasy alliance may prove to be the real danger.

My Thoughts:

I thoroughly enjoyed this book a lot. I can't say that it's better than the previous one since I haven't read it in a while, but it's probably one of my favorites.

Not only does Adelina risk her life to go to her dying sister's side, but she also creates an alliance to rid the Elites of their suffering--with the very people she wanted revenge on; who used her. And at the very end of the book, although they achieve their goal without going at each other's throats, her sister dies. And Adelina makes a deal with the gods to trade her life for her sisters' (this part actually made me cry).

Champion by Marie Lu REVIEW

Legend Trilogy: Book Three
Summary:

June and Day have sacrificed so much for the people of the Republic--and each other--and now their country is on the brink of new existence. June is back in the good graces of the Republic, working within the government's elite circles as Princeps-Elect, while Day has been assigned a high-level military position.
But neither could have predicted the circumstances that will reunite them: just when a peace treaty is imminent, a plague outbreak causes panic in the Colones, and war threatens the Republic's border cities. This new strain of plague is deadlier than ever, and June is the only one who knows the key to her country's defense. But saving the lives of thousands will mean asking the one she loves to give up everything.

My Thoughts:

This book was really good, but when they were finally able to heal Day, he doesn't remember June at all. Which I hated, because that seems to happen in a lot of YA books.
I really came to enjoy this series a lot, so i'm kind of sad that it's over, and i'm not satisfied with the ending.
But I do look forward to the final book in the author's other series that she's writing now.

Prodigy by Marie Lu REVIEW

Legend Trilogy: Book Two

Summary:

After escaping from the Republic's stronghold of Los Angeles, June and Day arrive in Vegas just as the unthinkable happens: the Elector Primo dies, and his son Anden takes his place. With the Republic edging closer to chaos, the pair joins a group of Patriot rebels eager to help Day rescue his brother and who offer them passage to the Colonies. The Patriots have only one request--June and Day must assassinate the new Elector.

It's the chance to change the nation, to give voice to a people silenced for too long. But as June realizes this Elector is nothing like his father, she's haunted by the choice ahead. What if Anden is a new beginning? What if revolution must be more than loss and vengeance, anger, and blood? What if the Patriots are wrong?

My Thoughts:

As far as sequels go, this one is a lot better than most. It was well written and had an interesting plot that kept twisting. I have really enjoyed these books so far!

It's interesting how the people June and Day start to work for end up being the enemy. 

This is a book you can't put down. At all.

My Thoughts:

It's been a while since I have picked up a dystopian novel, and I am so glad that I picked up this one. I had previously read this author's other novels (which were fantasy), The Young Elites and The Rose Society and enjoyed them so I decided to read the novels she wrote before those. This book was amazing and hard to put down. I highly recommend it.

The Rose Society by Marie Lu REVIEW

**Sequel to The Young Elites**

Summary:

Adelina Amouteru's heart has suffered at the hands of both family and friends, turning her down the bitter path of revenge. Now known and feared as the White Wolf, she flees Kenettra with her sister to find other Young Elites in the hopes of building her own army of allies. Her goal: to strike down the Inquisition Axis, the white-cloaked soldiers who nearly killed her.

But Adelina is no heroine. Her powers, fed only by fear and hate, have started to grow beyond her control. She does not trust her newfound Elite friends. Teren Santoro, leader of the Inquisition, wants her dead. And her former friends, the Dagger Society, want to stop her thirst for vengeance. Adelina struggles to cling to the good within her. But how can someone be good when her very existence depends on darkness?

My Thoughts:

I HAVE BEEN WAITING TO READ THIS FOR SO LONG AND NOW I FINALLY HOLD IT IN MY HANDS AND READ IT!!!! IT'S SO EXCITING!!!!

After the cliffhanger ending of The Young Elites,  I have been eagerly awaiting for this book to come out. And I wasn't disappointed at all.

Not only is this book written well, but it is a great sequel--when most sequels are terrible.

I have only one bad thing to say about it: some of it was confusing.

Now I can say that I am looking forward to the next book, if there will be one.

Summary:

My Thoughts:

This book started out really good and interesting, but started to drag later on (which made it boring). The beginning reminded me of ACID. The end seemed as if there will be a sequel. WHY DOES ENZO DIE???

-But there was some swearing.

-It seemed as if some of the side characters were prostitutes, but other times it seemed as if they weren't.
