Summary:

My Thoughts:

The answer to the last question is yes, she loses Wes. I'm not even totally sure why he had to stay behind, but even though I had a feeling it would happen, I still cried at that part. Also, she ends up marrying the friend who had feelings for her from the beginning--another thing I saw coming.
Other than those things, I loved this book a lot, and I really hope the author continues to write more books not related to this series, since this is the last book.
I saw someone else's review on this and they said it was "the hunger games but in space" and I got really annoyed. Sure, there are a few small similarities, but there are tons more differences than similarities. Other than the fact that there's a corrupt government and a revolution, there's not really any more similarities, big or small.

Dove Exiled by Karen Bao REVIEW

**Sequel to Dove Arising**

Summary:

Hiding in plain sight with her friend Wes's family on the drowned planet earth, Phaet discovers the rugged beauty of the world her ancestors once called home. All her life, she's been taught to fear the "Earthbound", and their generosity and kindness surprise and touch Phaet.

But when the Lunar Bases attack Wes's isolated village, Phaet's past catches up with her, and she's forced to choose: stay on Earth and fight beside the boy she's falling for, or stow away on a Moon-bound ship so she can save her brother and sister from the government that killed their mother.

My Thoughts:

This was an amazing sequel!!! The only problem was that the beginning was kind of confusing at first; it didn't really explain where Phaet was and what was going on until a few pages in.

There was a huge cliffhanger ending. I cannot wait for the next book!!!

Summary:

Phaet Theta has lived her whole life in a colony on the Moon. She’s barely spoken since her father died in an accident nine years ago. She cultivates the plants in Greenhouse 22, lets her best friend talk for her, and stays off the government’s radar.

My Thoughts:

I was really excited to read this book BECAUSE IT'S DYSTOPIAN AND TAKES PLACE ON THE MOON. I am a huge fan of books/movies/TV shows set in space, so I picked it up off the library shelf and decided to read it. The beginning was a little boring, but it got better a little farther into the book.  It swore a few times. The end/near the end/the middle was surprising. AFTER ALL SHE DOES TO SAVE HER MOTHER, HER MOTHER IS EXECUTED???? WHY??? It leaves her siblings and herself without parents, since her father died. But why does Phaet abandon her family to go to Earth? It leaves off on a cliffhanger, so there's probably going to be a sequel.
